JHKCBA Established in Winnipeg

On August 24, 2005 the inaugural meeting was held of the Junior Hong Kong Canada Business Association - Winnipeg Section (JHKCBA). This special luncheon meeting was hosted by the Board of Directors of the Winnipeg HKCBA Section and by one of our Ex-Official Directors, Manitoba Trade and Investment. The founding executive of the Junior Section was established in the presence of members of the Winnipeg Section of the Hong Kong Canada Business Association, Winnipeg business leaders and guests.

The Guest Speaker was Honourable Jim Rondeau, Minister of Industry, Economic Development, and Mines for the Province of Manitoba. Mr. Rondeau spoke of the important role that our youth can play in Manitoba's expanding international trade arena.

JHKCBA can be your key to International Trade Connections

The Junior HKCBA is targeted to young professionals, entrepreneurs, and students between the ages of 18 to 30 years old who are interested in exploring business opportunities in Asia, particularly in Hong Kong and China. The goal of the JHKCBA is to provide young Canadians the "how-to" knowledge and first-hand experience in developing business opportunities with Hong Kong, China and the Asia-Pacific markets. This ensures that they are at the forefront in all aspects of trade with those regions. The JHKCBA provides a forum for young, modern, and forward-thinking business leaders to share and develop trade opportunities between Canada and Asia. The JHKCBA (Winnipeg Section) functions under the guidance of the HKCBA (Winnipeg Section), with the goal to motivate other HKCBA sections throughout Canada to implement and adopt this concept, and perhaps have it spread throughout the world.
